(Video Below) The mother of a middle school student who was being suspended is facing charges after deputies say she walked into the school office and slapped the wrong child. Fairforest Middle School Principal Ty Dawkins called deputies to the school on Wednesday morning. Dawkins said that 36-year-old Tyshekka Collier had come to the school to pick up her son, who was being suspended. Dawkins said when Collier walked into the office, she saw a boy sitting in the office with his head down, and she mistook him for her son and slapped him in the face. Dawkins said the boy was sick, and was sitting on a couch waiting for his mother to pick him up. Dawkins said once Collier realized she had slapped the wrong boy, she apologized, and then walked over to her son and began to slap him for getting in trouble. The arrest warrant said that Collier hit her son in the head and face, knocking him to the ground. Collier was arrested and charged with disturbing school and two counts of assault and battery. Spartanburg County sheriff’s Lt. Tony Ivey said, “She did apologize to the child she did hit, and we understand that, and that’s a good thing there. But in speaking with the parents and all the interviews that were done — the two charges for the assaults and disturbing school, we felt were the most appropriate means to go with.” “I’d try to control your emotions a little bit when it comes to children and especially in public atmospheres here,” he said. “Sometimes it’s better to count to 10 or go off and cool off for a little bit, then go back with a level head before you start to discipline your children.” Collier’s three children have been put in protective custody. The issue of children came up often on the reality show -- Porsha wanted to have kids AND a career in charity work ... but Kordell told her she had to choose. Also, According to the divorce docs, obtained by TMZ, Kordell says the marriage is "irretrievably broken" ... and claims the two are currently separated. It seems Kordell also believes he shouldn't have to pay Porsha a single cent in spousal support ... claiming, "[She's] an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself." Kordell also says there are no marital assets subject to division ... which suggests there is a prenuptial agreement in play. Newsone also reports, Porsha, who thought her husband was as committed to saving their marriage as she claims to be, says she found out about the divorce from the tabloids. The following statement was released to the press on Tuesday on behalf of the granddaughter of the late-civil rights luminary Hosea Williams regarding her impending marital breakup: Mrs. Stewart is disappointed about her husband’s recent filing for divorce. Mrs. Stewart had held off on filing for a divorce herself and remained committed to the marriage because Mr. Stewart promised to work on the marriage with her. Instead, he misled her and she found out about the filing in the media. Mrs. Stewart hopes to resolve these personal issues privately with the support of her family, friends and strong faith. Source TMZ and Newsone A North Carolina woman has been charged with malicious castration after allegedly squeezing a man's scrotum until one of his testicles dislodged, North Carolina police reported. Joyce Maxine Gregory, 35, allegedly attacked a 59-year-old man during an argument in his apartment in Shelby early Saturday morning. When the man went outside to call 911, Gregory reportedly grabbed him, squeezing a testicle from his scrotum before he was able to free himself from her grip, according to police documents obtained by the Smoking Gun. A secretly taped conversation by a cop revealed that his commanding officer ordered him to specifically target young black males for stop-and-frisks. On the fourth day of the stop-and-frisk trial, Bronx officer Pedro Serrano (Pictured above) said his boss, Deputy Inspector Christopher McCormack, told him he should stop black males ages 14 to 21 because they are the ones who commit crimes. McCormack is heard on the taped conversation telling Serrano to stop “the right people.” “And I told you at roll call, and I have no problem telling you this, male blacks 14 to 20, 21,” he said, The New York Times reported. Serrano testified that he was also criticized by McCormack for not stopping enough people last year. The tape is the latest evidence in a class action lawsuit against the NYPD’s controversial stop-and-frisk tactic brought by a group of individuals who say they were stopped because of their race. Sources: Newsone And Metro.us (VIDEO BELOW) An 11-year-old Houston girl who had been repeatedly raped by her adult cousin gave birth today, authorities said. The older cousin, Deandre Devon Davis-Williams, 21, has been arrested and charged with the repeated sexual assault of a child. He is being held at the Harris County Jail and today a Houston judge raised his bond from $50,000 to $150,000. Davis-Williams has not yet been arraigned or entered a plea. The judge will be appointing him an attorney, Sara Marie Kinney of the Harris County District Attorney's Office told ABCNews.com. Kinney also said that the girl gave birth today. "[The] baby has been born and is doing well," she said. Over seven months from June 2012 to January 2013, Davis-Williams raped her while the girl's mother was away at work, according to a report filed in Harris County district court. The attacks took place nearly every day, the court papers state. "She would be left alone .. he was supposed to check on her and make sure she was ok. [Davis-Williams] and his aunt lived in the same complex," Kinney said. According to the report, Davis-Williams would enter the apartment behind the girl and follow her upstairs. He would then grab her by the hair, pull her to the ground and put her on her back, the report states. "She would say 'Please stop, it hurts," Kinney said. "He would then tell her to shower afterwards." The girl never told anyone about the assaults and it wasn't until she was seven months pregnant that officials at her school began to notice and contacted her mother. "When her mom was brought the information from the school, she freaked out. She asked her daughter what happened, and the mother contacted the cousin," Kinney said. According to the police report, Davis-Williams sent a text message to the girl asking why she told. He told her that he was going to kill himself. Kinney told ABCNews.com that he also told his mother, the girl's aunt, that he wanted to kill himself. Source: abcnews.com DOES SATAN LOOK FAMILIAR TO ANYONE??? On the web, people are saying that the resemblance of the Satan character in the History Channel's Bible series to President Obama is too close for comfort .... What are your thoughts??? Here's the story: The producers of History Channel's "The Bible" miniseries say Internet chatter that their Satan character resembles President Barack Obama is "utter nonsense." Mark Burnett ("Survivor," "The Voice") and his wife, actress Roma Downey, said Monday the Moroccan actor who played Satan, Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni, has played Satanic characters in other Biblical programs long before Mr. Obama was elected president. The connection got widespread attention after talk show host Glenn Beck last week tweeted: "Does Satan look EXACTLY like Obama? Yes!" History said in a statement that the network has "the highest respect" for Obama, and that "it's unfortunate that anyone made this false connection." "Both Mark and I have nothing but respect and love our president, who is a fellow Christian," said Downey, the "Touched By an Angel" actress who is married to Burnett. "False statements such as these are just designed as a foolish distraction to try and discredit the beauty of the story of the Bible." Beck has actually been a big supporter of "The Bible." The same tweet that pointed out the actor's resemblance to Obama urged his followers: "Don't miss it." On Monday, Beck tweeted: "Media -- relax." He said the observation was "funny, nothing more" and that the series "is 1 of my fav shows. Keep watching." The five-part miniseries has been a big hit for History, reaching more than 13 million viewers for its first episode. The 10-hour miniseries concludes on Easter Sunday. SOURCE: CBSNEWS.com A baby who was "functionally cured" of HIV may have some adult company. Fourteen adults have also been "functionally cured" after they were given combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) for their HIV infection. They have been able to stop taking the treatment while still keeping their infection under control, according to a new study in the journal PLOS Pathogens. "Our results show that early and prolonged cART may allow some individuals with a rather unfavorable background to achieve long-term infection control and may have important implications in the search for a functional HIV cure," the researchers, from the Institut Pasteur in Paris, wrote in the study. MedPageToday pointed out that while the 14 adults still technically have HIV in their bodies, it's only barely detectable when using highly sensitive laboratory methods. Therefore, they are considered "functionally cured" instead of being completely rid of the virus. The New Scientist reported that there were 70 people in the study, all of whom had been treated incredibly early for their HIV infection (anywhere between 5 and 10 weeks of being infected), but whose drug regimens had been interrupted for some reason: Most of the 70 people relapsed when their treatment was interrupted, with the virus rebounding rapidly to pre-treatment levels. But 14 of them -- four women and 10 men -- were able to stay off of ARVs without relapsing, having taken the drugs for an average of three years. The findings suggest that anywhere from 5 to 15 percent of people are able to be "functionally cured" of HIV, the study researcher, Dr. Asier Saez-Cirion, told BBC News. "They still have HIV, it is not eradication of HIV, it is a kind of remission of the infection," Saez-Cirion told BBC News. However, it still remains to be seen whether the virus will be controlled sans drugs forever. Dr. Michael Saag, of the University of Alabama Birmingham, told MedPageToday that he would not recommend people with HIV stop taking treatment, since stopping can actually spur replication of HIV. The adults in the study have been off antiretroviral medication for an average of seven years, and one person has even been off the medication for 10.5 years, the New Scientist reported. A person with HIV must take antiretroviral drugs every day for the rest of his or her life, according to AVERT. A recent study in the journal AIDS showed that people who are able to well-control their HIV through these drugs have no higher risk of dying than people without HIV. In the case of the baby who was declared "functionally cured" of HIV, doctors gave the baby -- who is now 2 1/2 years old -- strong HIV drugs within 30 hours of being born, the Associated Press reported. She was born to a mother who didn't realize she had HIV until she came into the hospital during labor. The HIV treatment was given to the baby before she was confirmed infected with HIV, but the doctor who treated her -- Dr. Hannah Gay, of the University of Mississippi -- told the Associated Press that she "just felt like this baby was at higher-than-normal risk, and deserved our best shot." However, Dr. Mark Siedner, a postdoctoral fellow in the division of infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, wrote an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal, where he pointed out that questions still remain as to whether the child was infected with HIV upon birth, or merely exposed. He wrote: In the case of the Mississippi baby, we know she was exposed to HIV, had HIV in her blood, and that at least some cells in her blood were found with sleeping virus -- though we will likely never know if those cells were from the child or maternal cells that had been transmitted during pregnancy or birth. Was the baby infected with HIV and, thus, cured? To many of the researchers at the conference, the answer is "no." It seems more likely that her treatment prevented her, after exposure to HIV, from being infected. Before the Mississippi baby, there was another man thought to be "cured" of HIV -- Timothy Ray Brown, who is known as the "Berlin patient." Brown was "cured" when he was given bone marrow stell cell transplants for leukemia that wasn't related to his HIV infection. But those stem cells he received came from a person with HIV-resistant cells -- and after he received the transplant, his virus never came back and he was able to stop taking antiretroviral medication.
